1. Who is responsible

Bible Tools operates Bibles.Tools and is the data controller for the personal data described here, meaning we decide how and why it is processed.

2. Data we collect and why

• Account data (name, email, login credentials) — to create and secure your account. Basis: contract.
• Study content (conversations, notes, highlights, saved studies) — to provide and sync the Service. Basis: contract.
• Voice recordings (only when you use the microphone) — transcribed to text to answer you; not kept as audio. Basis: contract.
• Preferences (language, translation, voice, theme) — to remember your settings. Basis: contract.
• Usage and device data (IP address, browser, device identifiers, feature usage, errors) — for security, fraud prevention and improving the Service. Basis: legitimate interests.
• Support messages — to help you. Basis: contract / legitimate interests.
• Marketing emails — only if you opt in. Basis: consent, which you can withdraw anytime.

Payment details are collected and processed by Paddle, not by us.

3. Who we share it with

• Service providers who host, store and process data for us (cloud hosting and database, AI model providers used to generate answers and narration, video search);
• Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for sales, subscription management, payments, tax compliance and invoicing;
• Professional advisers such as lawyers and accountants;
• Authorities, where required by law.

We do not sell your personal data.

4. International transfers

Our providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, we rely on safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.

5. Retention

We keep account and study data while your account is active. After you delete your account, we delete or anonymise it within 30 days, except where we must keep records for legal or tax purposes. Usage logs are kept for up to 12 months.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. Email support@bibles.tools; we respond within one month.

7. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls and row-level data permissions, to protect your data.

8. Cookies and local storage

We use essential cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, save unsent drafts and run the free preview timer. We do not use advertising cookies. You can clear these through your browser settings, though some features may stop working.

9. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
